Hello everybody, it is me, Dave, welcome to my recipe page. Today, I will show you a way to prepare a special dish, braised tofu. One of my favorites. This time, I’m gonna make it a little bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Braised Tofu is one of the most well liked of recent trending foods on earth. It’s appreciated by millions every day. It’s easy, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. They are nice and they look wonderful. Braised Tofu is something that I have loved my whole life.

Wrap tofu in a clean kitchen towel and place on a rimmed baking sheet. Unwrap tofu and slice in half. Braised Tofu is an authentic Chinese restaurant dish that you can easily make at home. Using silken tofu, all it takes is a quick fry and then a transfer into a hot wok.

To get started with this recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook braised tofu using 15 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Braised Tofu:
  1. Prepare 1 packet extra firm tofu
  2. Take 1 large carrot
  3. Prepare 1/2 white onion
  4. Take 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  5. Prepare 1/2 cup soy sauce
  6. Get Sesame oil
  7. Make ready 1 tbsp maple syrup
  8. Take 1/3 tbsp cayenne
  9. Prepare 2 white scallions
  10. Prepare 5 cloves garlic
  11. Prepare Salt
  12. Prepare Pepper
  13. Get 1 cup water
  14. Prepare 2 scallion greens
  15. Get Sesame seeds

Chinese braised tofu is a really easy dish using common Chinese pantry ingredients, yet packed with big flavors. Make a vegan version with mushroom sauce. This simple braised tofu is one of my trusted recipes that I make again and again. I always have packets of firm tofu in my fridge, along with some garlic, chilies, and scallions.

Instructions to make Braised Tofu:
  1. Cut tofu into thin slices and fry in sesame oil
  2. In a small bowl add mix soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, cayenne, maple syrup
  3. Peel and cut the carrot into small pieces, set aside
  4. After tofu is fried, cut and fry the onion, sliced longways. Add the garlic, salt, pepper, and white scallions.
  5. After onions are cooked, add the fried tofu and soy sauce mix. Sprinkle carrot and some extra raw onion on top. Add one cup of water and bring to boil for 10 minutes
  6. Cut to Green scallions on top and add sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
