Poha or beaten rice is very popular all over Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Its easy to make , light and still counts as a good hearty breakfast/tea time snack.. There is garam garam doodh ( Scalding hot milk) that has been lovingly heated for a few hours in a kadhai resulting in lots of malai (cream) and thick fudge-y taste. Wash the poha couple of times and then rinse the extra water through a sieve.

The ingredients needed to make Garam-garam Poha:
  1. Make ready 2 cups poha
  2. Get 2 big chopped potatoes, peas and chopped carrot
  3. Get 1 finely chopped green chilli
  4. Get 1 chopped onion
  5. Prepare 1 tbsp oil
  6. Get 1 tsp mustard seeds
  7. Make ready 3-4 curry leaves
  8. Make ready 1 tsp turmeric powder
  9. Get 1 tsp red pepper
  10. Make ready Pinch sugar
  11. Make ready Salt as per taste
  12. Make ready Lemon juice and cilantro

The life in Indore starts early with chuskis of 'Chay' (tea) with 'garam garam poha and 'Jalebi' followed by delicious lunch which invariably includes popular 'besan preparations'. Later in the day one can easily find snacks like 'Khaman', 'Kachori - aaloo kachori, dal kachori etc.', 'samosa', 'petis', 'Baked Had garam garam Poha for breakfast and then headed to Raigad Fort. Took Ropeway to reach the fort. Initially, we were bit scared with the steep ropeway.

Instructions to make Garam-garam Poha:
  1. Wash poha in water then drain water. Boil peas for 5 minutes. Sprinkle turmeric powder, red chilli pepper, pinch of sugar, salt on drained poha and mix it with hands.l and keep it aside.
  2. Take heavy pan, let it warm. Then put oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves and green chill. Then put chopped onions and let them sauté (till onion gets transparent)
  3. Put chopped potatoes, boiled peas and carrot in the pan and sauté it until it gets tender and little crisp.
  4. Then put washed poha in the pan and mix everything together.
  5. Cover it with lid and let it cook. After poha gets soft, sprinkle lemon juice on poha.
  6. Serve with cilantro.

Took Ropeway to reach the fort. Initially, we were bit scared with the steep ropeway. But the breathtaking view of the mountains from the cable car changed our mood into a thrilling experience. Within few minutes, we reached the backside of the fort. A different way to serve up your daily breakfast.
